History and Business Established in 1953 in Sibu, Ngiu Kee Corporation (M) Berhad ( NKC ) Group owns the oldest retail chain in Malaysia and has a well established chain store in East Malaysia . NKC is a household name in Sarawak for at least three generations. Currently, Ngiu Kee operates general merchandise stores in East Malaysia , targeting mass middle income group. NKC was incorporated in Malaysia on 26 March 1996 as a private limited company under the Companies Act, 1965 in the name of Ngiu Kee Corporation (M) Sdn. Bhd. In preparation for its listing on the Second Board of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad, it was converted into a public limited company on 23 May 1996 and assumed its present name. It is an investment holding company with its subsidiary companies involved in the operation of supermarkets and departmental stores in East Malaysia .

NKC Group has established stores in strategic locations in major towns across Sarawak i.e. Kuching, Bau, Sibu, Sarikei, Mukah, Bintulu, Limbang, Lawas and Kota Kinabalu, Sabah .
